Universal Security Management Systems Standard 2017
USMS Standard 2017
The Universal Security Management Systems Standard (USMS) 2017 is used by Security Professionals all over the world. Get involved, get certified, be in control, be an example.
This international standard states the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating and continually improving a dedicated Security Management System (SMS) for an organisation.
It ensures the safety of people, and the protection of the interests and assets of the organisation against the actions of malicious adversaries such as criminals, vandals and terrorists.
In this USMS Standard 2017 Security Management is a mature management process. It is risk based, stakeholder driven and continually improved with a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.
This Standard has been drafted in accordance with the High Level Structure for management systems of ISO. This ensures compatibility and smooth integration of the Security Management System with other ISO based management systems. Therefore, a Security Management System established in line with this Standard may seamlessly be implemented with management systems based on modern management standards such as ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management, ISO 27001 and ISO 27002 Information Security Management, and ISO 55000 Asset Management.
